Twelve Hours in a Graveyard

Twelve hours straight in the Hollywood Forever Cemetary in Hollywood, to be exact. If that's your idea of a good time. Right behind Paramount Studios. With 400 other extras for the new feature film "Valentines Day", by Gary Marshall. So many trucks and trailors parked on the set our shuttle driver isn't sure he can squeeze in. Como se dice "cattlecall" in Espanol? Sitting in our lawnchairs on the grass(we're picnikers watching an outdoor movie) for an audience scene, watching Shirley MacLaine, Topher Grace, and Hector Elizondo reshoot a scene about 20 times. Then, after the cast have left for the wrap party, staying with the other extras and film crew to add crowd scene sounds for the final edit. So glamorous. And at 5:00 a.m. comes the long awaited announcement "That's a Wrap!" to applause and hoots of the other peons. Now get in line to turn in your voucher as the sun is coming up. Stagger to your shuttle for the ride to the Sears building parking lot on Sunset Blvd, and finally drive home. I'll have to remember to thank my agent for this one. At least we got overtime!
